The Allenstown Fire Department (AFD) provides protection for residents in case of fire, medical emergency, floods, or other natural disasters.

AFD is also a member of the Capital Area Mutual Aid Fire Compact; as such, AFD provides mutual aid to surrounding towns as needed.

John Sartorelli replaced Eric Lambert as Fire Chief, having been appointed by the Select Board in June 2026.

The Fire Station, located at the corner of Ferry St. anf Main St., includes five bays for housing its fire engines and ambulances.

Burning Permits

A Burning Permit can be obtained Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Fire Station. You can also obtain a seasonal fire permit at the station.
